NEW HOME EFFICIENCY REBATE PLUS PROGRAM (HER+)INITIATIVE & HER+
Enbridge Gas and the Canada Greener Homes Initiative have joined forces to offer rebates for energy-efficient home upgrades. If you're an existing or future Enbridge Gas customer and install a new Heat Pump System, you could qualify for rebates totaling up to $7,100. (This includes the HER+ program and the Canada Greener Initiative).

Are you aware that you could qualify for a federal government grant of up to $5,600 to enhance your home's energy efficiency? The Canada Greener Homes Grant, launched in May 2021, has already benefited tens of thousands of Canadian homeowners. This initiative was created by the government to combat climate change, stimulate job growth, and lower utility expenses for homeowners.
This grant encompasses up to $5,000 for heating systems and renewable energy products, along with up to $600 to cover the expenses associated with pre- and post-retrofit energy EnerGuide evaluations.
WHAT DOES THE CANADA GREENER HOMES INITIATIVE COVER?
The Canada Greener Homes Grant, initiated by the federal government, aims to motivate Canadian homeowners to enhance the energy efficiency of their residences. As a result, it is a requirement that all materials and equipment be sourced within Canada or through a Canadian online retailer. Here's a breakdown of the types of improvements the grant includes:

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE CANADA GREENER HOMES INITIATIVE?
In order to qualify for the Canada Greener Homes Grant, you need to be a homeowner and provide evidence that you reside in the property on a full-time basis. Landlords who do not live on the premises are not eligible. Additionally, First Nations band councils, Indigenous housing management bodies, and land claims organizations are also eligible to apply.
CAN YOU QUALIFY FOR THE CANADA GREENER HOMES GRANT?

HOW DOES THE GREENER HOMES GRANT WORK?
The first thing you need to know about the Canada Greener Homes Grant is that you must pay for all the materials and contractors upfront. You must also pay for two EnerGuide evaluations conducted by an authorized energy adviser – one before your renovations begin and one after they’re complete. Once the auditor certifies the improvements, you’ll receive a cheque in the mail within approximately six months.
